terms of service.
Plain language. Read it. By signing up you agree to these terms.
what yew. is
yew. is an information service that helps you share a single link that routes a friend to whichever payment app they have — Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, Bitcoin, Ethereum, or USDC.
We do not:
- Hold or move funds.
- Process cards.
- Custody crypto.
- Charge fees on transactions (the underlying apps may charge their own fees — those are between you and them).
When you and your friend complete a payment, the money moves on the underlying rail — Venmo to Venmo, Cash App to Cash App, on-chain crypto wallet to crypto wallet. yew. sits next to that flow, not inside it.
acceptable use
yew. is for personal, peer-to-peer payments only — paying friends back, splitting bills, giving gifts, receiving casual reimbursements. You may not use yew. to:
- Accept payments for a business, side hustle, or any commercial transaction. The underlying rails (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle) prohibit personal accounts being used for commerce. If you need commerce, get a real merchant processor — we recommend Stripe, Square, or our own business product at biz.yew.cash.
- Facilitate anything illegal — money laundering, fraud, sanctions-evasion, drug trafficking, etc.
- Scam, deceive, or harass anyone. We will terminate your account if we receive credible reports.
- Run automated traffic against our APIs. Rate limits apply.
your account
You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. We use Google sign-in — anyone with access to your Google account can sign into your yew. account. If you suspect your Google account is compromised, secure it with Google and tell us so we can invalidate active sessions.
You can delete your account at any time — see the privacy policy. Once deleted, all your data is removed within 30 days except where law requires us to retain (e.g. fraud-investigation logs).
about the rails (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, crypto)
Each rail you connect to yew has its ownterms of service. When you accept money via Venmo, you are agreeing to Venmo's ToS — not ours. We do not control those rails. If a rail freezes your account, refuses a transaction, or charges you a fee, that is between you and them.
Crypto addresses you add are public — anyone with your /p/ page can see them. Treat them like any address you would share over DM.
no warranty
yew. is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running, but we don't guarantee it will be available at any given moment, or that it will route correctly to your chosen rail every time. If something breaks, email us and we'll look into it.
limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, yew is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost income, lost goodwill, missed payments) arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any direct loss is capped at $100 or the amount you have paid us in fees in the last 12 months — whichever is higher. We charge no fees, so today this cap is $100.
governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts of San Francisco County, California.
changes
We may update these terms over time. If we change anything material we will email everyone with an active account at least 30 days before the new terms take effect. Trivial wording fixes will not trigger that notice.
